Game description

Carcassonne is one of the best modern board games. It is also a best-seller. It was originally published by Hans im Glück in 2000.

Although the rules of Carcassonne are relatively simple, the game has great depth and replayability. Most people enjoy Carcassonne. It is equally good with 2, 3, 4 or 5 players.

Carcassonne is both very tactical and very strategical.

We strongly recommend this game.

Gameplay

The gameplay goes as follows:

On his turn, a player draws a tile that he must place on the board. Little by little, a nice-looking landscape is created with roads, cities, cloisters and fields. And it is different for every game!

Once he has placed his tile, the player may place one of his 7 followers on the tile to score points now or later (followers are actually meeples). As followers are rare, he must place them carefully. By completing cities (or roads or cloisters), he will get followers back, but having too many uncompleted ones may leave the player without followers, which would mean no opportunity to score more points until he gets one back.

Another very exciting characteristics of the game is that players both compete and cooperate at the same time to score points, which leads to very interesting situations and difficult choices.
